Clean Disk Policy and Improved Productivity

Clean desk policy is being stressed a lot in almost all the productivity blog. I may be writing about it again for the millionth time but there is a reason for writing about this. The results of this simple rule is simple awesome. Many people don’t understand the connection between the “clean desk” and “improved productivity” . If you are one of them, just clean your desk and see the result yourself. The simple rule I follow - Nothing on the flat surface. Yes. I don’t keep anything on my desk. Even if I work on any of the project, I clean my table right after finishing it.

All my things have a “home”. After using them, I always return them to their home. I never have any stuff lying just on the table. This rule works only if your table is already organised. If your table is cluttered like a hug pile then I would suggest the “10min” technique. It’s so simple. Just spend ten minutes to clean a part of the desk. Do this daily for a week. Hurray!! At the end of the week, your table will be clutter free, without you spending much time. Why don’t you start this today?

A shortcut for happiness

You would have heard it many times before - “Don’t be judgemental”. Even the famous Shakespeare has written –“Nothing is good or bad in this world. Only our thinking makes it so”. It’s so much true. Always expect thing to get messed up. Always believe the people whom you trust the most will cheat you. Yeah sure they would. I am not talking negative. I am practical. I know my readers would criticize me for having such a pessimistic approach towards people but I stand for what I talk. I have seen millions of teens losing their life on a break up.

I know thousand of kids taking drugs to live in the imaginary world of love. What was their mistake? They believed life would always be fun. They believed love is eternal. They turned away from the practical world. They shut their eyes and pretended as if nothing is happening. When their friends suffered after a breakup or any other emotional break down, they thought they will never come across such a situation in their life. Do you get my point? That's why I say to expect the worst in your life so that life seems to be wonderful always.

How To Stay Slim Like a Japanese

It’s hard to find a fat Japanese . Of course, the sumo wrestlers are there but apart from them, it is hard to find Japanese people affected by obesity. In this post I’m going to reveal the secret between their healthier life style, slim body and extended life span. We are also going to see how to incorporate these ideas into our life to make it more healthier. First, Japanese take more sea foods. Since they are surrounded by sea on all sides, they eat a lot of sea foods. Fishes are their main dish along with rice. Also they take a lot of liquid food like soup which restricts them from taking a excess solid food. Second, they eat less. Unlike in America, the restaurants in the Japan offer only a small amount of food (plus some kind of soup). So the Japanese take many meals, but in small quantity. Third reason, Japanese walk a lot. When I was in Japan, I observed that they walk a lot. The adults ride cycles to reach places inside the city. The kids walk to school and they enjoy walking. If we follow the simple three rules mentioned above, we too can be healthy like them.

Simple Rules For Healthy Life

Staying healthy is very important to have a active work life. In this post I am going to explain few things you must follow to maintain a wonderful life style. Exercise daily. It helps you to burn the extra fat in your body and makes you active. Even if you can’t exercise daily, exercise at least 3 times a week. Eat less. Eat once in three or four hours, but don’t eat tummy full. Eat not till you feel stacked but until you feel satisfied. The wise sages have said that 50% of your stomach should be filled with food, 25% must be filled with pure water and the remaining 25% should be free for the stomach to digest. Breathe properly. Yes you heard me right. We have been living on this earth for so many years and we still haven’t understand properly the power of breathing properly. Always inhale deeply to intake more oxygen. Sleep properly. I have stressed this point so many times. Have a schedule for sleeping. Sleep at the same time everyday and wake up at the same time in the morning, everyday. You will feel less tired. If you follow all the simple rules I have listed above, you can see considerable changes in life.

Take Breaks To Work More

Actually can you believe if I say that you can do more by working less? The truth is you can achieve more by taking more breaks. Though you may feel resistant in the beginning, you will eventually get used to it. This is what the psychologists call “sharpening the axe”. The short breaks will make you more active. Do some physical activity in the small breaks. Take a small walk around the office. Even a ten minute walk would do good. You can also stop in a nearby juice shop to get some juice. The lesser the sugar, the more effective it would be. Yoga and meditation are the other choices. Learn yoga from a good master and you will feel a new meaning for your life. If all these things seemed to be impossible, then try the power nap. Power nap is a small sleep that lasts only for twenty minutes. You can also try the caffeine nap i.e having a coffee before sleeping. The coffee works after 20 minutes and you will wake up automatically. Also try to divide your work time into chunks. A 30 minutes chunk would be better to start with, in the initial stage, which you can increase up to 2 hours.
