I read recently a book called “How to stop worrying and start living” by Dale Carnegie. In this nook he states a rule – Every new habits takes 21 days to form. This rule applies for both learning a good habit and unlearning the bad habit. I determined to form so many habits in my life – waking up early in the morning, lose extra commitments, spend at least a hour a day in solitude, stick to vegetarian diet and more… But the truth is that I was not able to take them beyond a week. When I was so persistent and followed it for 21 days, I learnt those habits.
So make this as a golden rule, next time when you take new year vow or take your local gym membership. Resolve to stick to your plan for 21 days. Because the first 21 days are the most crucial part of any habit forming process. There is also another simple rule – Don’t miss for two consecutive days. If you miss to go gym for a day, by all means go gym the next day. This is what they call negative momentum. If you build the negative momentum, it’s hard to break it.
Hard Work Vs Smart Work
Do you believe that you can do more by working less? The recent survey by the renowned scientists around the globe, reports that the people who take frequent rests actually accomplish more than what their hard working counterparts. You might have already heard this classic lumbar jack story. There There were two lumber jacks. They used to work hard the whole day cutting the woods but at the end of the day, the second one seemed to have chopped more wood than the first one. The irony is that, the second one always used to take a lot of rest in between. Finally one day, out of curiosity, the first one went to second one and asked his secret. The second one replied - “It’s simple. You only saw me taking rest, but you actually missed to see that I was sharpening my axe, whenever I took rest”. Many of us fail to see this point - “Sharpening the axe”. We all have a perspective that if we work more, we will do more. That’s wrong. The modern productivity experts say that hard work is not the key to success, instead smart work is the real key to success. Break your perspective and resolve to work smart from today.
Beat The Procrastination
Procrastination is the worst enemy of everyone. Everyone would have face this at least once in a day. Our mind is great in making excuses and pulling us away from what we are supposed to do. Everyone have that voice running in their mind that says - “Can’t this work wait till tomorrow?” “Okay. Let me eat this cake. It won’t do increase my weight” “It’s so cold out there. Let me jog tomorrow” “Ah!! it’s only six in the morning. Let me sleep for just another five minutes”. Can you relate yourself to that inner voice I am speaking of? I bet you would have come across one of these even today. Some people think we need will power to beat procrastination. Though this is partly true, it is not universal. Will power may help you do the work but what about the satisfaction you get in doing the job? You will feel as if someone forced you into that. What you actually need is Will Power + Motivation. The motivational factor can be anything but you must really like it inside to do that. What if you don’t really like it? The answer is simple – Love it. There is no other go, just love your work.
Ethics Of Working At Home
Working from home is the new way of making money but there are many difficulties in it. In this post I am going to explain the different method to increase the productivity while working from home. First, have a work place. If the way you work is no different from playing video games, then this is the right time to change. Though you need not have highly decorated workspace, at least a decent looking isolated corner is enough to give that feel.
Second, work early in the morning. In my previous post I have told about the benefits of working in the early morning. This fits well for those who work from home. Also be careful with the friends and relatives who take your time for granted, since you work from home. Learn to say No to things that may affect your productivity. Have a fixed time for working. I find many people working from home, wasting time posting in forums or replying for long e-mails. They account this in the working hours. Please avoid that. Try to focus on important jobs. Finish the important tasks first and then do the small jobs later.

Power Of waking Up Early
Our ancestors used to sleep early and wake up early (Of course before the invention of the TV and internet). But the present generation sleep late at night. They watch soccer games till midnight or browse the internet before they crash into bed. I know teens who sleep even at 4 or 5 AM in the morning. I just want to tell them all the benefits of waking up early. First, you can enjoy the nature, the beauty of sunrise and can breathe some fresh air. Second, you can achieve more. The morning is a noise free time. No blaring televisions or nagging wife. You can spend that time to do the most important work of the day. If you decide to wake up early in the morning, then don’t just turn your alarm to 4:30 in the morning. The habit should be developed gradually. Just turn your alarm to 15 minutes earlier and practise it for few days. Then after few days, try waking up 15 more minute earlier. Continue this until you wake up an hour or two earlier than the time you are waking up now. It’s not very difficult, just give it a try.
Chase Your Dreams

Recently I received a letter from one of my readers Miss. Catherine from Singapore
Her mail: I am 17 right now. My parents still consider me to be a kid but I have dreams of my own. I don’t want to settle in a normal job. I don’t want to get married till I turn 30. I want to be an international journalist and I want to travel to places but the world considers my dreams to be crazy. They want me to settle in a decent job and marry someone nice. What should I do? Should I pursue my dreams? Or should I listen to what the world says?
Power Of Positive Thinking
I recently read a book called “The Secret”. I also saw the documentary of the same name. In this book, many different authors explain that if we want to achieve something so badly in our life, then the whole universe will determine to provide us what we want. This is the same concept that has been explained in the famous “The Alchemist” book by Paul Cohelo. In this story, the protagonist wants to win in life, to be more apt, is determined to win in life and so the universe helps him to turn into a wealthiest lad.
Paul Coehlo uses different words to describe it. He calls it “The beginners luck”. But both of them tell us the same thing – Think positive and Keep thinking about the things you want in your life. This is the only way to get them. The authors of the secret book go to an extent to tell that, we are like magnets and we attract the things that are similar to our thoughts. It implies that, apart from good things that we attract we also attract the tragic things in our life. We get only what we want to get and the good news is that, we can decide what we want to get.

Scoring goal in life
Yesteray one of my friends after reading the posts in my blog asked me this-"Everyone i know talk about achieving their life time goals. What is it all about?". So the next thing i did was sat down and scripted these points. First, Accept life – Don’t try to be judgmental. Nothing is good or bad in our life. Only our thinking makes it so. So don’t complain about your dog or broken furniture. Accept it. This is life. Life is not meant to be perfect. It will go wrong in all possible ways. This rule is being followed in the rocket engineering. When something is supposed to go wrong, by all means it will go wrong. So it is our duty to expect it and work for it, without complaining. Second - Set long term goals – Life without goals is like travelling in a plane without knowing the destination. If you don’t have a goal in your life then you are like a dried leaf on a river. You will be taken by the course of the river; you will never have a control of your own life. Instead be like a shark that swims against the upstream to make its own path. Third -Review goals – If you don’t review your goals weekly, then you can’t measure your productivity. This is like overhauling your life. You will surely feel better afterwards.

Focus – The real secret of success
What is the secret of success? Hard work? Motivation? Luck? Disciple? No. The real secret of the success is Focus. Focus on the things you want to achieve will surely bring you success. Consider this example, you want to lose weight, the extra fat in your body. You buy new pair of jogging shoes and fill your iPod with your favourite songs to hear while running. The first day you wake up at 5 in the morning to run. You get a feeling of accomplishment after jogging for the first day.
The next day too, you wake up at 5 to start running. You are focused on only one thing, losing weight. On the next day night, you favourite team is playing baseball. You stay up till midnight to watch the game. The next day morning, you feel lazy to wake up at five. Why? Your focus changed from losing weight to watching your favourite show. When your focus changed, your energy flow also changes. Our mind has the greatest power of giving us what we ask for but the funny part is that most of us don’t know what we want. If you are determined to get something, you will surely get it.

Tips chart
In this article i am goiing to talk about few things that everyone must do for a healthy life. First, Eat healthy – Avoid eating junk food. Avoid sweets and aerated drinks. This is the easiest way to lose weight and stay healthy. Second - Do Yoga or mediation . You can improve your focus by doing yoga or mediation every day. Just a half an hour on solitude will improve your focus and efficiency. Third - Stay organized. Have plans and goals in your life. Have a handy planner to plan your daily activities and to stay on schedule. Say no to unproductive commitments in life and spend more time for the important tasks. Know your priorities. Spend more time with family or your special one. Don’t get too much involved in life and lose the precious time you spend with your soul mate. If you have kids, then go out with them at least once in a week. Finally, always Think positive. As I mentioned in my previous post, we are like a giant magnet and we attract what we think. If you thoughts are positive, then you will attract all positive things in your life. Pessimistic people will only suffer more and more in their life. You have to understand this for the improvement of your life. Get a copy of the book called “The Secret” from your local library. This book explains this concept in a better way.
