Blackjack, a game of unknown origin, is the precursor to blackjack. The first written reference to this game is contained in the picaresque work of Miguel de Cervantes, Rinconetey Cortadillo. It features two swindlers who barely survive in Seville playing blackjack. The text describes the goal of the game is to score without going over twenty-one points, and the ace is worth one or eleven points. Since this story was written between 1601 and 1602, it follows that Castille played in blackjack since the early seventeenth century or earlier. This game also called Vientiane typical or twenty, is a card game, the casino itself, which is to get 21 points by the sum of the values of the cards.
